Splendid crafting on show

WITH Splendour in the Grass just two weeks away, punters can now begin to plan their days, after festival organisers released the set times last week.

While there are not many major set clashes, musical wonders aren't all that's on offer throughout the festival, spanning July 24 to 26.

For those who want to put their creative hat on in between listening to sweet tunes, the Splendour Arts and Splendour in the Craft will offer some much-needed respite between your favourite sets.

By the kick-off of the festival, North Byron Parklands will have transformed not only into a musical wonderland, but a canvas bursting with visual art talent, and whether you're an art maker or admirer, there will be plenty to enjoy.

On Friday July 24, punters can begin the festival with a Community Quilt Workshop in the Splendour in the Craft tent, with the opportunity to make dream catchers later that day.

On Saturday, the early risers can turn the festival into a real party with a piñata making session, followed by a charm bracelet workshop and some quality time with mega-creative designer Beci Orpin.

On Sunday afternoon, you can temporarily ditch the bands to "pimp your gumboots", which by that point will probably be sufficiently muddy and in need of some bling.

The festival's musical headliners include Blur, Mark Ronson, Florence and the Machine, Boy and Bear, Flight Facilities, Xavier Rudd and the United Nations and Peking Duk.
