Outlaws member fined after fight with bikie at nightclub

A NIGHTCLUB altercation between two men involved in local chapters of motorcycle gangs cost one man $1000 in fines.

David John McDonald, an associate of the Outlaws in Gladstone, was involved in a fight with a member of the Black Uhlans at Bojangles nightclub on April 1 this year.

The 23-year-old was witnessed by a patron and security staff to be punching the victim repeatedly in the head, even as security staff viewed the victim to be lying unconscious.

A banning order was placed on McDonald from Central Lane Hotel, Bojangles and the Reef Hotel and police arrested him after McDonald broke that order and entered Bojangles on October 18.

The trade assistant on Curtis Island was fined $1000 in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Thursday and the banning order was extended for those venues to July 9, 2014.

Magistrate Russell Warfield did not record a conviction although police prosecution sought one be recorded.
